From Medicine to Masterpieces

Meet Debbie Mueller, a late-blooming artist who traded her stethoscope for a paintbrush at the age of 56. Once an Obstetrician/Gynecologist, mother, and wife, Debbie discovered her hidden passion for painting during a rainy afternoon in Sarasota, Florida. With a set of acrylic paints and a dock at dusk, she created her first masterpiece, changing her life forever.

Debbie, the daughter of an artist mother and a crafty father, initially pursued hobbies like mosaic making, pottery, and photography. Fine art was something she admired from afar—until that fateful day when she unleashed her inner artist.

Since then, Debbie has embraced her newfound passion with gusto. She’s learned from generous teachers and immersed herself in the joys of painting from life. Whether capturing the elegance of still life, the beauty of landscapes, or the human figure, Debbie delights in the dance between light and shadow.

Debbie’s work, which has won numerous awards, will be featured in our upcoming Coffee Table Art Book. Notable among her works is “In the Pink,” an oil on panel that beautifully showcases her love of mid-century aesthetics and coffee culture. Debbie’s skillful use of light infuses her compositions with a captivating interplay between brightness and shadow.

Debbie’s journey from the operating room to the art studio is a testament to the boundless creativity within us all, waiting to be discovered. Get ready to be inspired by Debbie Mueller’s stunning pieces that bring life to canvas and coffee tables alike. See more of her work on her website.
